Why should I work out at Jubilation?

First off, because we make working out fun. You’ll leave sweaty and happy, and you’ll feel great. But also, we have an amazing hardwood floor that is easy on the joints. We have showers. We have great lighting and a rocking sound system. And most importantly, we have a wonderful and supportive community that will welcome you.

Does it matter if I am (fill in the blank here) overweight, older, can’t dance, have two left feet, have never done this before?
Nope, doesn’t matter, just come as you are! The classes are all suitable for all abilities. We have participants of every age, shape, and size in every class.

How do I find out the schedule/sign up for a class/buy more classes/find out how many classes I have left?

You have a few options! You can login to Wellness Living or download the Wellness Living Achieve app store.

For the technology-challenged, you can text me or email me and I’ll help you and/or get you the information you need.

What do I wear?
You want to wear comfortable workout clothing. Yoga pants, leggings or stretchy shorts and tanks/tees are a good choice. (Ladies, make sure you have good support!)

What kind of sneakers are best?
Any sneakers with good support and not a lot of tread will work. Most cross-training sneakers are excellent options. The owner is insane and prefers to be barefoot…. we don’t recommend that, but we are fine with that. Please do not wear your street shoes on the dance floor.

Do I need to bring anything else?
All you really need is an open attitude and a big smile! You might also want to bring a water bottle and a small towel. I have bottled water available to purchase.

Do I have to sign up in advance for a class or can I drop in?
I recommend signing up in advance because that way you’ll be notified if anything changes with the class. However, you can just drop in! I do offer plans and passes that offer a significant discount and frequently have sales.

What class should I try my first time? (and what should I expect?)
Pick a class, you will be fine! I know you probably want to hide in the back, but RESIST the urge! You will enjoy the class more if you have an unobstructed view of the instructor, so try to position yourself where you can see. It will take a few times to learn the steps, but just keep moving and you will get it! Make sure you come back AT LEAST 3 times before you give up, and try more than one class and instructor. We all have very different styles.

Can I get in the best shape of my life just by doing Zumba?
YES! and no. You can, but your body really needs to cross train, and specifically to lift weights. You start losing muscle mass and bone density at 30, and the only way to counteract that is to add some weight training to your workouts. Make sure to try the Dance/Tone or straight sculpting classes. I also offer personal training.

Where is Jubilation anyway?
We are located at 2800 LaFayette Road in the same plaza as the Beach Plum. We are in the corner, or the “elbow” of the plaza. We are located in the same hallway as the BLOCK.

Where is the most current schedule?
a. The daily schedule is at here.

Are children allowed at Jubilation?
We do not offer babysitting; however, if your children are old enough to amuse themselves and not disrupt the class, they may play in the lounge during class. Children over ten may participate in the class as paid students if they like. I ask that they stay totally OFF the dance floor if they are not students in the class. Some classes have spicy language and moves, so I recommend that you try a class first to make sure you find it appropriate for your child.

Are men allowed at Jubilation?
YES! Ok, honestly there aren’t a lot of them. But they are welcome!
